What Every Woman Needs - to avoid a Sex and the City Moment

Sex and the City fans, will recall that moment Carrie and Mr. Big interacted for the first time, as he picked up her condoms from the NYC sidewalk. Had her goodies been secure in a "on the go sex pouch" in her handbag, the awkward moment may have been avoided.
In case you aren't familiar with the scene referenced or you want to see it again!
Whether you are a single gal who is dating (or just hooking up) or a married woman who wants to be prepared, there are certain things every woman should keep with her so she doesn’t get caught short.

Of course if you know anything about me, you know I’m talking about sex.  Let’s face it, many dates end up in some sort of sexual experience and you want to be prepared.  Not all sexual experiences end up in intercourse.  Oral sex is awesome.  Fingers are fabulous and can reach parts penises might not be able to.  And if you’re a gusher or squirter, you might need some “extras”.

But lovelies these "extras" shouldn't just be tossed in your handbag - you don't want a Carrie moment - do you? This is where a little "sex on the go" (SOTG) pouch comes in. Just like you toss a beauty bag into your handbag in case of a lipstick touch up or you need to reapply make up - a SOTG pouch should also be in your handbag.

Essentials that should be in your "sex on the go" pouch:

  • Sugar-free, aspartame-free mints.  Pur makes awesome mints that are sweetened with xylitol (a sugar alcohol) rather than artificial sweeteners which are so bad for your health.  Mints are much better than gum because gum can add air into your stomach, causing you to bloat … and what woman wants to purposely do that to themselves??  Also, if you have mercury fillings, gum can release minute amounts into your system and you DEFINITELY do not want that.  You do, however, want fresh breath, because who really enjoys kissing coffee or garlic breath?  Also handy for after performing oral sex, especially if you’re going on about your day.  Who doesn’t love a little “afternoon delight”!
  • Along the same line, a travel toothbrush and mini tube of toothpaste … just in case you don’t go home that night.
  • Condoms.  Ladies, you need to take responsibility for ensuring that you have condoms with you because men aren’t always that prepared.  All you need is a few, preferably in a couple of sizes because not all men are equal and yes … size matters.  You don’t want an average man using a “magnum” size and then slipping off and you get a condom stuck up your vagina.  Phthalate free are safest and most recommended.  And if you’re vegan … they’re going to cost a little more and be a little more challenging to find but you can find them at (www.glydeamerica.com).   and (www.sirrichards.com.  Even Durex (www.durex.com) makes them.
  • Lube.  This may or may not be necessary but always have a couple of individual packets that you can slip into a bag.  You can get them at any sex store.  Just stay away from the flavoured ones … they generally contain questionable ingredients.  The lining of your vagina is very thin and highly absorbable so please stay away from anything containing parabens, phthalates or sodium laurel sulphate.
  • Tissue.  This is very important for either removing lipstick, or cleaning up “messes”.
  • Travel sized hand sanitizer from the health store.  Many of the mainstream sanitizers contain triclosan.  You do NOT want to use this ingredient.  It has been identified as a hormone disruptor (not good when you’re facing perimenopause and menopause ladies) and a possible carcinogen.  This is important if you get caught out and about with no access to soap and water.  You don’t know where his hands have been and if they’re going inside you after he’s been doing who knows what, you’re exposing yourself to things that shouldn’t be in that delicate part of you.  Washing with soap and water is preferable but if you’re in a pinch …..
  • Mini vibrator such as a silver bullet.  These are small, discreet vibrators that you can use any time.  If you find yourself in a situation that you just need some relief, whip one of these babies out, have some fun and feel more relaxed afterwards.  You can certainly use these with a partner as well!
  • Change of panties.  Yes, I know this might seem a little odd but anything can happen and if your panties get soaked or perhaps your scent is strong (cause sex has a definite strong scent), you may want to freshen up and this is the easiest way to do it.
  • Brush and/or scrunchie … you might want to remain presentable after a little playtime ;)
I made reference above to both single and married women.  I am NOT suggesting or encouraging that a married woman (whether they’re officially married or not) steps out on her partner, but it happens.  Perhaps they’re in the lifestyle or an open marriage.  But I’m also talking about the “married couple”.  What if you’re out and about and you get totally turned on and you enjoy outdoor sex?  You still want to be prepared.

So there you have it ladies … whether it’s a planned night out or an impromptu opportunity, always have your “go bag” on hand.
Would love for you to share in the comments any item(s) you consider a must have that I may have not included.

Sexual intimacy is an amazing practice that has tons of variations. If couples are only experiencing standard sex practice (like just performing the missionary position over and over) then they are missing out on experiencing true mind blowing orgasms.
