How to know if he/she’s right for you?

​All relationships centre around compatibility.  We all recognize compatibility – they are the relationships that flow easily, the ones we call ‘good’ relationships.  We also have ‘bad’ relationships with people that we know we’re incompatible with - we often try to work at these relationships, hoping to make it better.
If the relationship is with a family member or a co-worker, we do what we can to live in harmony, but when it is with a chosen significant other, we have three options that can lead to peace:

1. to continue working at it together
2. to move on
3. to accept what is

It’s the third option that is often overlooked but can be the perfect way to learn a life lesson.

Spiritually speaking though, there really are no ‘GOOD’ or ‘BAD’ relationships as they all guide us on our path of knowing ourselves better.  If our buttons are pushed within a difficult relationship, we have an opportunity to rise above it when we can look for the lesson being presented to us. 
There is always something to learn from adversity.  As Marian Keyes aptly put it: ‘the things we dislike most in others are the characteristics we like least in ourselves.’  That’s often a hard pill to swallow, but if we can get beyond our ego, we’ll recognize the truth in it.

Love at Any Age
YOUNG LOVE is about exploration, trial and error.  This is how we start to learn about our own values and self-worth.  But as we get older and wiser and know ourselves better, we become more discerning and less tolerant of the incompatibilities we find in others and can choose what we will and what we won’t allow into our lives.
At any point in life, for some, searching for that ‘special someone’ to share our lives with can be a frightening prospect.  For others, it may seem easier to resign to a life of being alone than to compromise known self-values (especially if having left a relationship in which compromise was intolerable).
FEAR NOT!  You’re about to discover some lesser-known tools that have been available (yet hidden) for centuries.

Let’s explore these ancient tools:

Astrology : A simple google search will render many online ‘love calculators’ and flicking through tabloids will likely deliver your monthly love horoscope.  Although they can be entertaining, these are based on astrological compatibilities from traditional associations that are designed to be a ‘one-size-fits-all’ method.  We are complex creatures, each one unique, so quite often these generic ‘answers’ do not resonate.
Getting your astrological chart read by a professional can provide insights into your own and others’ complexities.

New Age Ancient Wisdom: Looking at astrology through the lens of FENG SHUI provides ancient wisdom from the way natural elements behave in the natural world. Each astrological sign has an element associated with it:  AIR, FIRE, WATER or EARTH. In Feng Shui, the compass directions within a dwelling have elemental associations too.  Traditional Feng Shui remedies involve determining the elemental energy of an area and ‘balancing’ any incompatibilities with an element that will change its energy to be auspicious. For example:  If the element of FIRE is considered detrimental in a specific area, then the element of WATER is added because we all know that WATER puts out FIRE.

​Using this same analogy, we can ‘balance’ the energies of astrological sun signs with the same Feng Shui principles.  The result looks like this:

​When the WILD CARD shows up, these two may be quite opposite and can sometimes work beautifully together.
Whichever way you decide to justify staying with a partner - if your traditional horoscope tells you you’re compatible, or you relate better to the natural elemental associations, or you’re in it for the lessons – one thing is for sure - YOU are the one writing the story of your life.  Its your storybook and you can write whatever you want to write into your chapters.
If, however, you’re looking for a more complex way to determine if he/she’s THE ONE, forget about asking “WHAT’S YOUR SIGN”, you should be asking this instead:
