RESILIENTISTA ROAD TRIP ~ SPENCER GORGE TEW WATERFALL

Just a short drive west of Toronto you will find this amazing waterfall! It is described as a ribbon waterfall - it's 134.5 feet in height making it the tallest in Hamilton. It really is breath taking and that it's within an hour or so of Toronto, makes it a great road trip destination. The Spencer Gorge where the Tew falls is located was carved out by the body of water that preceded Spencer Creek , about ten thousand years ago.

Once you have taken in the beauty of the free flow water, continue on the Bruce Trail and about 30 minutes later you will arrive at the most amazing natural view I have seen in a super long time. Don't worry there are plenty of viewing platforms to stop at along the way and take in the Tew from different angles. The trail is well maintained but, it is a slight steep climb in certain areas. Make sure you bring your water bottle (especially on hot days) to ensure you stay hydrated.
During the week you are able to park at the parking lot right at the falls; but due to the amount of people that descend onto the area on weekends, parking is at the Christie Lake Conservation and a shuttle bus will transport you to and from the Tew and Webster Falls at no charge (there is a $20 entrance fee -A parking fee of $10 per vehicle and a per person fee of $5 applies-  to get into Christie Lake).
The shuttle stops at Webster Falls on it's way back to the parking lot. I highly suggest making the pit stop. And this is the perfect spot to also enjoy a picnic lunch or relaxing break.

NOTE: currently there is no access to the bottom of Tews Falls.

These are just two of the many waterfalls in the area - for a full listing check out City of Waterfalls.
