SPRING READY CHECK LIST

3/21/2018

Mother Nature is a little slow in recognizing that we have turned the calendar to spring, but no doubt she will be gracing us as with double digit temperatures anytime NOW!  The brief glimpses of sunshine, and the chirping of bird's, outside my window are a reminder that warmer days really are around the corner. When the warmer temperatures strike us - are you ready to slip on those open toe shoes; shorts and exposed arms? ... I'm so ready to get outside. How about you?

I've put together a short check list of self care reminders so that as the temperatures rise, your stress does not.

Toes: We have all been there - the warm weather hits, along with the opportunity to wear our most comfy, sexy open toe shoe. As we are getting ready we look down at our feet - and screech "I need a pedicure! I can't wear these with toes looking like this". Book or make time for DIY pedicure and get those winter calloused heels silky smooth, and toe nails trimmed and polished.
Legs & Pits : Hello, before you can toss on those shorts, skirt, or tank top some waxing or shaving may be in order. While waxing requires an appointment (unless you are one of the brave souls who DIY) this screech moment can be quickly remedied with a jump in the shower and a shaver.

Clothes & Footwear: Now is the time to take inventory of your warm weather wardrobe pieces that have been stored. Does anything need to go to the dry cleaner, be launder (freshened), does it fit (nothing worse than going to put on a fav piece only to find you can't move in it, or now it's falling off of you). Go through your spring capsule wardrobe (you know the pieces that are the foundation to your spring time wardrobe) and see if anything needs replacing, updating or new purchase. How about that swim suit?

Sandals, flip flops, strappy heels - assess your footwear, for replacement, need, repair (those lifts that you wore last summer dancing the nights away).
Skincare: I like to go through my skincare products seasonally and see what may need to be updated. The moisturizer I was using for winter may be a little heavy as the warmer temperatures begin. Also its good to have your skin evaluated every 3-4 months, especially age we age - our skin care needs can change often.

Beauty Products: Has winter left you looking a little pale? No worries, head to your local beauty counter for some bronzer and all over self-tanner. Even as the sun begins to kiss my skin leaving it with a golden hue, I find my legs often need a little help ~ I have found St. Tropez - self spray to be a budget friendly solution.
I encourage you to take some time this week-end and do a little warm weather ready check list. Trust me it will be worth it - when that unexpected hot day hits and you want to get out and enjoy it! Being prepared is the best way to minimize potential screech/stress moments and practice a little self care!

Very good points! I need to get to work on them right away. My poor pedicure needs updating from winter darks and reds to the lighter colors of Spring. Wardrobe change out, too!
